Sorry to be gruesome but it intrigues me that they are able to list the cause of death as asphyxia for the other remains found but all they have are bones.

not to be even more gruesome, but maybe there was something around the necks, or neck bones were broken, or something like that...

I hope that I am wrong but I believe that they found animal bones in ADDITION to the child. The child was found days ago actually so I would think by now that they have figured out if it is a child or not. AGAIN, I pray that I am wrong.
The article I read said they found remains TODAY (Monday, April 11) and could not determine at the scene whether or not they were animal or human remains. Of the 4 unidentified bodies they have, ONE, is a child. ETA: If I had to guess, I would think, the single body they found is the chilld, and the three others they found "together" are adults. Although the cops aren't saying, the 3 they found "together" are probably linked to the first 4.
I just got an email update from News12 saying the ninth set of remains found (at Jones Beach) were in fact human.
However, they didn't say whether they were that of a child's or not.

such a mess! i cant believe all the bodies that are coming up! A baby a poor helpless child.. Ughh this makes me so sick.

Eyewitness news just said the last set of remains that was just found late this afternoon -they have not determined if it is the remains from the 9th body or a 10th body.
Either way it is terrible

Oh man! This is all so sad.
Sounds like there are two different serial killers using the same dumping grounds.
I heard a theory that maybe one of the women had a child with her and that he killed the child and her at the same time. In that case it wouldn't be such a break in pattern.
This whole thing scares the living daylights out of me.
And after the 2pm press conf. they did update that the remains found were human. There was a bag of remains and skull found. They don't know if the skull was part of the bag or a separate find. So they are calling the count 9 or 10.

The story on newsday this morning is saying one of the sets of remains is from a child no older than 5

did anyone else hear that the killer was using the cell phone of one of the victims and calling her 16 yr old sister and tormenting her. Started calling her 3 days after the sister disappeared and went until it started getting press. Unbelievable. I hope they are getting some kind of leads they are not releasing and on their way to catching this freak.
