Car seat questions...
So, the twins will be 1 next week. They weigh around 25 lbs. We don't really use a car very often (maybe 3 times a month) but we need car seats.
Which brand do you recommend? And, do I really need to buy the Britax at 300.00 a piece?

My Bff gave me her Britax to use for K, and her aunt who is a safety inspector for car seats (and installed it in my car) said that it was the best in terms of safety.

you can look at he graco nautilus. it is only foward facing though- but it converts from a foward facing five point harness, to a high backed booster, to backless booster0 basically, will last you until you're out of a seat. i think its about 150.

Honestly, I'd recommend the Graco Comfortsport. They are around $79-$99 and they are a pretty highly rated for safety and a little bit more compact (since you need 2).

All seats have to pass the same tests, etc. so they are all safe, some are just easier to install correctly which makes them more safe than one you have trouble installing.
With that said, the Cosco Scenera seems to be a car seat of choice on the safety forums and it's about $40 or so at Walmart (I believe they have it online also).
Graco Comfortsport is great also and it has EPS foam and less than $100. I'm a firm beleiver that you don't HAVE to buy a Britax for safety. Convenience maybe, but not safety. There are many other less expensive alternatives.
