Car seat base questions
My dad bought a graco snugride base at a garage sale for $2 last weekend (he's so cute). He had no idea if it was something that we could use or not, but for $2, he didn't care. The date on it says that it was manufactured in May 2009. Will it work with my brand new Snugride infant carrier? and would you use it? it's in great condition.

You do know the age, but has it been in an accident? Has anything that might compromise the structure happened to it? (Chemical spill, etc).
I'd be hesitant to use it, IMO.

I got 2 extra bases for my infant seat off of the parenting buy/sell/swap thread. I see nothing wrong with using it if it's not too old. The ones I got are not brand new and they fit my new snugride perfectly.

ITA. The age isn't the problem, it's a question of whether it's been involved in an accident before.
