car negotiating- extended warranty

I know i have in the past but it was a few years ago. But what is the most you've been able to negotiate on the extended warranty? I think if memory serves me correct, i got it for almost 1/2 off.

I get mine from AAA and never buy from a dealership. The idea of paying interest on it just makes me cringe. Don't know why. I just flat out reject them and get the platinum level from AAA

Depends on the type of car. When DH bought his Civic he found several dealers in other states selling Honda extended warranties for wholesale online. He tried to get the dealer he was using to meet the price and they wouldn't so he bought it online. Never had a problem using it at any Honda dealer.
My friend had better luck getting the Honda dealer she used to match the price on 3 different purchases.

There is room to negotiate in most extended warranties. Without working for each model line it is impossible to tell you just how much markup there is. Just be aware, if you purchase a certified used car, the extension on the certification is a 1 shot deal. If you don't purchase it at the time of delivery the certification warranty extension is not available at any other time. Other types of warranties are, but I get a little worried about those ads you get in the mail. The manufacturers extended warranties tend to be pricey, but when you need them they're worth every penny.
