We caved too, last night we had friends over and had a fire in our backyard. They never came in my house. I saw my son genuinely smile for the first time in months, making smores with his friend. That was worth any judgement.
My daughter actually said it was better than Christmas morning for her.
I feel so horrible for our kids that this is what their lives are

I feel so horrible for our kids that this is what their lives are
DiBlasio said today that because of this new mystery illness, he may be forced to stick to remote learning in September. He did say that was Plan D, so I hope it doesn't come to that. But I am sick to my stomach thinking of my kids stuck home all summer, only to be stuck home in the fall too. My biggest fear is that schools won't reopen at all until September 2021.
