I thought I did post on this board, but I guess with everything that's been going on I forgot.
Yes, we ended up putting her down. It was the most heartbreaking thing we've ever had to do. I just couldn't believe the extent of her injury until I saw her for myself. It all happened so fast and unexpectantly. We were out of town for a week, so excited to see the dogs and then we get there and have to rush her to the Vet ER. She didn't even get to really say hi to us. Normally she's bouncing around when we get home. That dog was strong. She wasn't even crying when we got home. She just sat there with this gaping whole in her chest and tried to be happy. I just can't believe how quickly the whole grew in 24 hours. The venom/bacteria literally ate her skin away. She defniitely didn't deserve to leave this world like that. We always expected she would go quietly in her sleep. At least she's not in pain anymore. We keep looking for her at the back door to come in. We told Caiden about what happened because he was looking for her. He cried which made me cry. He said so many things about her that was sweet. My other dog Mikho hasn't been the same either. He's never been without her. We got her first and then we bought him when he was 8 weeks old. It's so sad. But, we have to look at it as we gave her a good life since we rescued her. Who knows where she would have ended up. Thanks again everyone!
