BTDT moms: Transitioning baby to her own room

A few questions if you don't mind:

When did you transition your child to his own room and crib?

Did the crib have bumpers, breathable bumpers, no bumpers?

How did you monitor room temp of baby's room?

ETA: DD is 6 weeks old, sleeps in a bassinet next to me, and she is sleeping 6 hours a night on average now. I am not ready to let her go to her own room just yet but know I should do it before I go back to work at the end of May. She is fully BF but there is a chair in her room where I can feed her. Re: BTDT moms: Transitioning baby to her own room

we transitioned at 11 weeks. I was nervous about doing it, but after the first night went so well, I knew that we did the right thing and wished we had done it sooner! At the time, DS was sleeping 6-7 hour stretch and as soon as we transitioned him he started sleeping 9 hours. His crib was much more comfortable and it was much quieter in his own room.

We had regular bumpers in the crib.

His room is always cooler than ours because it's over the garage, so we put the heat up a little higher, so it was probably about 68 degrees in there. They sell glow in the dark digital thermometers that you could buy

Next baby, I will probably transition around 8 weeks.

Good Luck!

8 weeks, and he slept better in the crib than he did in our room. Chat Icon We used regular bumpers. We don't monitor the temp. We do have a white noise machine in his room.

Same, except we did it at 5 weeks and we also used a sleep positioner because DS needed to be slightly upright. We will do the same for DD, although I am not sure when.

We moved DS in at 4 weeks. We have breathable bumpers on his crib (I never got a regular bedding set, a relative made us a quilt).

We have a space heater in there for colder nights since the room is chilly. We set it at 65 degrees and it goes on when the temp drops below that.

When did you transition your child to his own room and crib?
At around 5 days old.

Did the crib have bumpers, breathable bumpers, no bumpers?
Breathable bumpers.

How did you monitor room temp of baby's room?
We don't really. We have the thermostat set for the house but his room is a little cooler. We put a blanket on him right now but will move the the sleep sack in September when the weather cools.

Re: BTDT moms: Transitioning baby to her own room

When did you transition your child to his own room and crib?
After 4 days of being home from the hospital (almost 2 weeks old)

Did the crib have bumpers, breathable bumpers, no bumpers?
We have a bumper but I don't use it.
I have a quilt I put on the crib during the day for decoration and it comes off crib when he goes to sleep.

How did you monitor room temp of baby's room?
The house is monitored and the temp is usually anywhere from 68-70. His room has a ceiling fan that I keep on at night and he sleeps in his pjs swaddled in a receiving blanket.

5 and a half months....too long. She transitioned beautifully....she was probably more than ready for a bigger sleep space!

She has regular bumpers

As far as monitoring temps...we don't...but our apt tends to be on the warmer side
