BTDT Moms: Another Question About Post Partum Bleeding *Update*

I know I asked a question about pp bleeding a couple of weeks ago, but I just want to make sure this is normal! DD will be 5 weeks old on Friday...I only bled for the first week and a half, and then it stopped--no need for panty liners or anything. Now, I feel like heavy bleeding came back w/ a vengeance....nothing scary, but very heavy, small clots (dime-sized), and a lot of cramping. My question is two-fold: 1) is this normal? and 2) is this too early to be my AF? TIA! Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon

UPDATE: So I called the doctor this morning, and he said it sounds like my AF...however, as suspected it's very unusual to get AF this early when EBFing. He's sending me for some blood work just to make sure all is well. One of the tests they ordered is to see if I'm pregnant or miscarrying Chat Icon. I assured them that I haven't Chat Icon in quite some time...oh well, my insurance is paying for it! Chat Icon. I'll let you all know if something happens. If you don't hear any update after this, just assume it's just my boring ol' AF Chat Icon.

I was bfing so I didn't have that issue, but my docs told me it was very common and if I did not bf then I should get AF right around my 6wk check up. They suggested I cnx that appointment if it happenedChat Icon

I would call just to be sure...they told me if I stopped bleeding, and it all of a sudden came back, to call right away...if you werent ebf, I would think it were your period, but being that you are, I would call the drChat Icon
