BTDT moms - help me out please....I didnt get everything off my registry - what should I spend money on?

OK - for a newborn - did you find you used the Boppy? What about that little bouncy seat?

My MIL gave us some money to use for the baby, and someone else gave us some money too - is it worth it to get a Boppy and the bouncy seat?

I never ever use the boppy (but I didn't breast feed) I know alot of people love it.

I swear by the bouncy...we put her in it on the table so we could have dinner, bring it in the bathroom to shower, etc...she still likes it.

we never used the bouncer..but live by the boppy!

he would not sit in bouncer, now he's just too big for it

boppy, I put him in the center of it when I read to him or play with him.

I also use it to prop him up to take his picture

I got the Boppy - but hardly use it. In the beginning, my tummy was way too sore to use it - so I got used to being without it.

I have the baby papasan instead of the bouncer and LOVE that!

My sister used the boppy for her babies constantly, but my son would never use it once.

I would not go without a bouncy seat.

I didn't use the bouncy in the beginning at all. We did use it a bit later on though. DD just wasn't that thrilled by it. The Boppy we did use to prop her up and stuff but that was about it (it did however come in handy at the hospital as an extra pillow though).

I don't know what you DID get, but the Snap n Go - definately get; and a swing was our lifesaver!

ETA: One book I loved was The Happiest Baby on the Block. It definately gave tricks to help the baby stop crying. It is a pretty small book, and easy reading.

3 suggestions --
-2nd hand stores - Once Upon a Child in Massapequa on 107 often has these items in perfect condition (and you save our landfills from overflowing)
- craigslist - I got some great items on there
- Marshalls. I got my boppy there for half the price of BRU.

If you BF, the boppy is good, especially if you are recovering from a c-section - it was my lifesaver in the hospital.

The bouncy is also a good item to have so you can put baby down for a minute or two while you get something done, while they watch you. I used to put Alex in her bouncy and take her into the bathroom with me while I showered

Bouncer and boppy were 100% useful for me. If I had to choose between the 2 - bouncer would be it - I can't imagine not having one!!!

I only used my boppy to BF, it was a lifesaver for that, but since i weaned it's been sitting in my living room.

DD loved her bouncy seat, it waas the only way i could get things done around the house, eat dinner, shower, get dressed. I have 2, one upstairs and one downstairs. I used the bouncy seats til she was aobut 6-7 months old, i only took her out cause she started sitting up on her own and turning on the music.

It really depends on the baby. I still use the bobby pillow but you can get one cheap in Marshalls. I never really used the bouncey with Molly though. I have used her Jumperoo a lot and would recommend that but you won't use that for a little while.

Each child is different.... We had a bouncer but my son HATED it, so we returned it. It can't hurt to buy it and test it out, if the baby doesn't like it just return it.

As for the Boppy, I pumped so I didn't use it for BF. But we used it all the time. It was great for propping the baby up when we were hanging out in the living room. DS used it until he could sit up on his own.

I also recommend getting the books, The Secrets of the Baby Whisperer and Healthy Sleeping Habits, Healthy Child.

I would get the Papisan Infant Chair instead of a bouncy seat. The bouncy seat I found not to be too safe in my mind and the boys got too big for it quickly. The Papisan Chair is much better and soft for a infant.

We use our boppys all the time. It's even useful now when we are trying to teach them how to sit up. We put it behind them so if they fall back they fall onto that.

Not sure what else you didn't get, but the snap n go is a must for every new mom.

I could NEVER live without my boppy. I LOVE it. We use it all the time. For feeding, for sitting and playing, for tummytime in the beginning so he didn't faceplant. I could go on....but I won't

We got both the papasan and infant to toddler rocker. I highly recomment the rocker. There's more to do/look at and grows with the baby and is half the price.
