book suggestions-5th grade
After the tests, I want to read a class book with my children. I really want a thought provoking book. I am reading Number the Stars with one of my groups right now, and am looking for a book like that (one that gets such a strong response). IF anyone can think of a great book about bullying, please let me know. We are having a huge issue with that.

Bystander is a recent book from James Preller
Slob - Ellen Potter
While I do like Rules, it's an R, way too low for a 5th grade read aloud at this time of the year.

I don't remember if bullying was a strong theme but my kids loved Maniac Magee by Jerry Spinelli.
