Bonus gift cards - WWYD
if you bought a gift card as a gift and you received a "bonus" gift card for free would you keep the bonus one or give it with the gift?

Depends who it was for. If it's a bonus I would prob keep it to be honest. The recipient is still getting the intended gift and wouldn't know about the bonus.

Depends on whether I would use it or not. IF it's somewhere I'd go- then I'd keep it!
Just be aware that sometimes you can't use them until a certain time.
Someone gave us a Chili's Gift Card AND the $10 bonus last year that we used to take the kids to lunch the week after Christmas. We couldn't use the bonus GC until mis-January (which we didn't realize) and they expire. So, it sat in my glove compartment until I came upon it 6 months later. What a waste

Its for Panera - when you buy $25 gift card you get a $5 bonus card to be used January and February. I was leaning towards keeping it.

We usually keep them. I think that's the point. Otherwise they'd probably run a "Buy a $100 gift card for $75" special. I think it's sorta weird to give it with the gift.

This-- and where it was for. they usually send the cards separately so that would be awkward to give as a gift!

I am giving the bonus card to the recipient but it's for a lot more money than $5 to an expensive restaurant. The promo was that you got 20% of your gift card purchase on a bonus gift card. I would rather give it to the recipient so that they have extra to cover the bill which will likely be high.
If it was your situation, I would keep it.

Depends on where it's for and who the recipient is. If it's a close family member or for a store I wouldn't buy something in, I'd give it.

Usually those bonus cards have stipulations, i.e....use xx date to xx date. So I would absolutely not give those as a gift.

I'd keep it - sometimes the bonus cards have expiration dates or a lag before they go into effect. Plus I think it's a little weird to give someone 2 cards of different denominations!
