Bobs Discount Furniture and their "Goof Proof Protection" Plan
Anyone have any experiences to share? DO they stand by their service agreement? Is it worth it?

Before we met, DH bought a couch from Bobs and had the protection plan. The wooden frame on the couch completely broke apart (no we are not extremely overweight and no, we didn't jump on the couch). First they came and fixed it (when it was just one wooden beam) and when the rest of them broke (all in less than one year) they gave him full credit towards a new couch. When the attached pillow on the new couch ripped, they came and fixed it. So, I would say yes, they stand by it, but after our experience with the 2 couches, I think we're done with Bob's.

We needed a chair replaced on our dining set within a week of having it delivered, before it was even used! It took awhile (almost a month!) before they came. First they had to send someone to look at it, then they had to locate a replacement chair since it was not fixable.
We need to call them again because I recently noticed a piece of wood missing from the table in a really random spot... like someone cut out a piece from the side. It's not up against a wall or anything so I'm not sure how it happened. But, they have since discontinued our table and it doesn't seem like something that can be fixed so we'll see what happens. We've had our set for a year.

sorry to hijack, but, what do you say when you call? i have a few small tears on the couch from the dog and also a few stains on the microfiber, from the kids. what do i tell them? do they clean the couch?

i have the protection plan, but have not used it yet. i do recall though they stress that when you call you say it was an accident. my kids accidentally spilled stuff on the sofa, i accidentally burned a hole with a cigarette, etc. not sure how they handle dog scratches though....

As far as I know pet incidences are NOT covered so don't say it was from the dog. That was one thing the guy stressed to me when we bought our bedroom set from them.
