Biden question
Did he ever actually say he would lock down the county, close all schools and businesses, and make us stay home for months? I have never heard him say that. He said a mask mandate (which we need) but I read a lot of panic and a lot of stuff that sounds absurd.
I can't find him ever saying he never wanted schools to open. This is hysteria.

No I don't' think he said that. I think he said something at the last debate like- Yes, I'd consider lock downs if necessary.
Also, I believe that is up to the individual governors of the states.
If the president could make those decisions, wouldn't trump have opened up the whole country a lot sooner?
I thought the closing of schools and businesses, locking down of states etc was up to the individual state.
So I 'm not sure where this fear of lock down is coming from.

Covid Cases in other states are currently OUT OF CONTROL. We are in a bubble in NYS. My ILs are in MA and keep saying how their numbers are rising.

There are many mentally ill people out there and he did this same thing back in 2014. You are going to go by 1 person and the story didn't even say he was a Trump supporter.
You have heard the word hate? I never have so maybe I don't have family and friends who are like that and didn't vote for him for many reasons and didn't have to go as far to say they hate him.

Texas is not fully open and actually closed some things. FL is basically fully open and most places are masks optional.

I believe Biden will enforce masks. Not shut everything down. I think he will enforce more businesses to do rapid testing (and actually set these things up and make them accessible for people). I do not think he wants to close any businesses. Maybe certain hot spot areas or certain businesses not enforcing whatever rules he puts into place, but only for a short time and not the entire country. He doesn't want to collapse society, the economy and have people stop working. He just wants people to do everything safely with the guidance or what the new science says about covid 19. But whatever he chooses to do, he will do it with the people in mind and resources to help the ones affected by it. Trump just cares about himself and his ratings. He doesn't care about anything else.

I don't know, I feel like we are pretty open in NY (with the exception of NYC which is just another animal due to the population density of a huge city)
But DH goes to the gym again, nail and hair salons are open, restaurants are open for indoor dining, you can sit at a bar (yeah you have to order food, but in NYC you can't even sit at a bar at all) movie theaters have opened, my daughter goes to school 5 days a week in person, malls are open, hell even strip clubs are open in NYC! 
I don't think NY is all that restricted right now. And certainly in way better shape than anywhere else....

So many are still jobless as their places are opening at smaller percentages or never reopened. Not all schools are 5 days. Yes many things are back to normal but we are not fully open that we can act like we did before this. Many places even close earlier and bars have the chance of getting their liquor license revoked so it has become harder to be social if you were before.
