No. My mom went once in desperation and her highlights turned out WHITE. they completely bleached all color out.

Honestly they are all licensed so why not. I have got my haircut there a few times and have gone in the past for a few weddings I have been in for updo's and stuff....never had a single complaint.

This can happen really anyplace you go to. My friend went to a place and paid $150 to get her hair highlited (it was a well known place in babylon village) and they messed it up.

I agree totally. I have been to lots of higher maintenance places and they have almost always screwed up...

Re: Be honest - Would you go to the Lemon Tree for high lights/foil or color?

I am far from a snob when it comes to stuff like this- but I wouldn't.
A cut- maybe- and even that is questionable.

But color is very dicey- and easy to mess up - and it can really ruin your hair if it's done wrong (like damage it etc).

I just remember going there when I was younger and them messing up my hair- so it left me with a bad taste.

I am sure you can get a great stylist there and end up loving it- just like you can get an awful stylist at a really swanky place... but I feel your chances are higher of something bad happening at someplace where they are still not that experienced. Not worth the risk to me...

I would go there for a trim or just to get bangs trimmed up or something small like that, but not for a new hairstyle or coloring

never unless i saw the work of someone that i was going to

like if i saw a girl with great hilights- and she told me she saw Jen at Lemon Tree, then id try it.

otherwise, i know a place in Huntington on JEricho where hilights are 60-85 and they are decent

Re: Be honest - Would you go to the Lemon Tree for high lights/foil or color?

Absolutely not .......I saw the people my sister went to Beauty School with .........Some shoule be charging $500 a cut, some should have their scissors BANNED from them !!!

And honestly, it's not THAT hard to get a license. It's a written exam and a practical ........you have to do VERY basic stuff that my sister was actually nervous about passing the practical b/c after working in a high end salon and learning all new techniques, she didn't know the 'beauty school' way anymore !!

Re: Be honest - Would you go to the Lemon Tree for high lights/foil or color?

I have a friend who goes there for single process color and never has a problem. I went to the same one once just to have a wash and blow-out because I didn't feel like doing it for an event and the girl messed that up!!! I had to come home and do my hair overChat Icon

NOOOOOOOOOOO
4 months before my wedding I tried the less expensive route. The girl got my reddish hair 4 colors of green and started to cut out my long green hair so the remainder of my original blonde you could see. I had to leave and eventually got my short blonde hair to red by someone else. I was soo ****** to say the least.

I'd choose somewhere based on recommendations, but in my experience the good people at the cheap places don't stay long before they more on to someplace better.
