I'm so sorry for your loss. Bailey will have a lot of friends on the other side of Rainbow Bridge...including my dog Benny, who went there on February 2nd. Hugs to you.

I did not go w/ my parents to the vet. I just could not bring myself to do it. I stopped there before they went to the vet and he was bad. He could not move and his eyes were only half open. He wagged his tail when I walked in...I wonder is he was waiting for me. Evidently he stopped drinking and was having a hard time getting up. My dad and DH had to carry him out using a sheet and he had such a scared look in his eyes. I told him I love him and that he was a good boy and he was going to a place where he would not hurt anymore and then kissed him on the nose and patted his head. My parents were there with him through the whole thing, so I am glad he had people he trusted there so he would not be as frightened. My dad said it was peaceful. I'm thankful for that.
Thank you all for all of the well wishes and prayers throughout Bailey's Lymphoma. He was a happy dog who loved chasing sticks and his ring. He was a strong pup and he and my parents, as well as the wonderful people at the vet really gave it all they got. He went into remission within 2 weeks the first time, but then endured a second round of chemo when it came back, this time more aggressive. I would not wish this ordeal on anyone, but yet am thankful for extra year I was able to spend with my "lucky puppy".
Goldens truely have the best souls!
In Bailey's honor, please hug your doggie today.
ETA: hugs for all those who have recently (and not so recently) had their beloved pets cross over to rainbow bridge.
