i personally refused to take any BUT my doctor wanted to prescribe some for me so I definitely know there are safe ones!

It depends on how sick you are. There are specific antibiotics/steroids that the doctor can put you on if necessary. I think you have to be really sick.
You can take Robitussin DM, Regular Strength Tylenol, and use a Vaporizer/put Vicks Vapor Rub in a bowl of hot water with a towel over your head and breathe it in.
That is if it's upper respiratory.

there are a few antibiotics that are safe, but, what are you sick with? is it viral or bacterial? is it something that warrants antibiotics?

I was put on amox arounf 10 weeks for a UTI by my midwives who are really leary on using medication and they said it was completely safe

I calle dDr Hanaeur office and told them im 24 weeks pregnant and have a daughter who has a terminal illness and cannot get sick and i wanted the doc to call me back and maybe prescribe something but the reseptionist is refusing and saying there is nothing i can take

its a little yellow
you prob don't need antibiotics then............green is a problem, with a higher temp. anything above 100.4 is considered a fever, you are lowgrade, more consistant with a viral infection. you need rest, plenty of fluids, and time. pregnant people can safely take robitussin, sudafed, mucinex. but i would keep away from these unless you have no other choice. keep in mind: you could blow your nose and it be green in the morning upon waking, but if it clears to yellow or clear throughout the day, then you are ok.

even if you did have a bacterial infection, antibiotics wouldn't make you less infective today. either way, whether viral or bacterial, you can still get someone else sick. so, make sure you are handwashing frequently, and using extra precautions.

I would tell her you'd like the Dr. to tell you no, NOT her.
Unless she suddenly has a Dr's degree & decided to spend her time answering phones & giving out unsolicitated advice DEMAND you want to speak to the Dr.

I'm taking them right now. This is my second round in this pregnancy. Both my regular doctor and my OB prescribed the same thing......Cephalexin.
I get bad sinus infections.

I'd call your primary care physician.... for any illness not really interfering with the pregnancy I want to my PCP..... if it affected the baby then my midwife...
Either way the receptionist should be putting you through to the Dr.

I was just on antibiotics last week because i had a sinus infection. I was given a Z-pack by my primary care physician.
I also see Dr. Hanauer. Whenever I am sick, I see my primary care physician.
You should call Dr. H's office and leave a message for one of the nurse practitioners if you can't get in touch with your primary care physician.

Demand to speak to the Dr.
Don't even tell that receptionist anything else.
Say you need to talk to a Dr. ASAP.
I know there are antibiotics you can take while pregnant- my Dr mentioned there were when I was sick a few months back.
I can't stand when people think they earned a medical degree just because they work in a medical office!

I had strept throat( at 9 weeks) and I was on a z pack. OB told me it was so important that i take the antibiotics because strept is dangerous to the baby. I was also told I could take Amoxicillin.

This is how I was when I had strept I would go to the pcp and get a throat culture just to make sure.
