Are 3D sonos covered by insurance or do you pay out of pocket?
How much do they run you, if out of pocket?

entirely depends on where you go and what package you choose.....
anywhere between $75 & $300!!
we're having one done on April 3rd and we're going with the package that costs $150.00.....
(insurance does NOT cover - unless it's done by your doc - as some docs DO have them now).....

Ours wasnt covered by the insurance and cost us 150.

my OB does then when she does regular sonos, no extra charge. she said shed rather her patients go to her tech who is registered than to a place that has unregistered people doing them.
and just as an FYI - im a ultrasound tech (vascular) and most places that offer undiagnostic 3D ultrasounds wont hire registered tech or the registered techs wont work there bc if the accrediting body found out the techs would lose their letters. they dont even consider you a patient, they consider you a customer!

Our OB sends all his patients to a different doctor for the 20 week level 2 which is a 3D ultrasound and because he is doing that we are pretty sure it's covered but we aren't sure. Im hoping we don't have to pay out of pocket since our doc is making us go there for it but we will see on friday.

Usually if you have a dr's prescription to get a sono there is only the copay you would normally have with your insurance if any.

If it is part of a regular scan then it is covered by your insurance (my OB's office does them standard for their level IIs - actually they do 4D). If you want one for entertainment purposes - basically to see the baby and not for a medical scan you will need to pay OOP.

My Dr. doesn't do them so I went to a private place. Gender is 50. and then each package varies depending on pictures/cd's
