Approx. price for a cape dormer?
Has anyone ever priced a full-dormer on a cape? Just curious what the price of this is. TIA

We were quoted $35000 last summer for a full dormer on our cape. that was unfinished inside thoughThey said to finish it would be around 70k

Unfinished usually means shell. Studs, roof, siding. No sheetrock, electrical, plumbing, finished floors, etc.

Right except by law now they need to rough in the plumbing if you are adding a bathroom.

Didn't know that. Thanks for sharing this.
ETA: Why do they need to rough in the plumbing for a bathroom... but plumbing for baseboard heating wouldn't needed to be installed?

Ours was around 175k for the dormer plus an extension as well, which included a basement extension and new foundation, cultured stone, cedar impressions siding, windows etc.
So about 100k sounds about right.
That didn't include any of the materials
like, plumbing, electrical, insulation, drywall, spackling, painting, fixtures, plumbing fixtures. tile work, wood floors, Molding and trim work,
The shell is the easy part, its the finishing that can get really costly as well.

Larsen home improvement has specials starting at $73k fully done with 4 bedrooms and 1 bathroom.
