I do hope they stop with the surprise twist endings though. To be honest, if they keep it up it's going to become very predictable and  . Other than that, it's pretty good so far. I don't know that I love it like I loved Parenthood, that show was perfection, but it's a good show.

Loved it! I was sad at the end to see who the Mom was with, but I'm sure they'll explain it.
I didn't think I would become so invested in this show, but I really really love it and I like the twists and turns it's taking.

The kids called him Grandpa so I guess the Dad has been gone a while now?
The fact that the kids called him grandpa makes me also think the father passed away awhile ago, that the girls see him as grandpa. But Randall made sure to refer to him by name and not "dad" so think he might've died when the kids were older but before the girls were born.
That was what I was thinking. Then I figured he might have died in the 9/11 attacks but then realized he is in Pittsburg not NY
Thinking Cancer or something like that since she said she would never take it off ... so divorce is not part of the story

I love how real the emotions are with all of the characters. I love Kate. I love that the writers are real with her and her fears and feelings. As a woman who has been over weight my entire life, I relate so much to her.
I love this show.

I like it but can't say I love it. I find the writing to be a little cheesy. I like Kate and Toby (I just love the actor who plays Toby- he was Cleary on The Knick, which was one of my most favorite shows ever). Kevin is irritating. Randall is kind of blah. I'm most interested in seeing how things were for them growing up. I like the past better than the present!
Also, it annoys me that they named the kids Kate, Kevin and Randall. I mean, isn't Randall different enough without being the only one without a K name?!

my mom was annoyed by this too but i said there might be something with that name ... maybe on of their parents or the fireman who found him etc

And there you have it. They addressed the babies names.
I was shocked to find out the mother met William in the past.
Looking forward to see how that plays out.
I think this show is so well written.
3 episodes in and I'm hooked.

I couldn;t quite follow what the story was with Randall's biological parents? Did his bio mother overdose? die during labor? Did they address that?

I'm pretty sure in the first episode when he went to see his father for the first time, either Randall or the father said she died during childbirth. Which would make sense because he was brought to the hospital as a new newborn (same bday as the twins).

Anyone watching This Is Us? SPOILERS FROM 10/11!
I'm loving this show! It's like an emotional roller coaster each episode. One minute my heart hurts. Next it melts.
Randall's birth dad is/was a really good guy. He got caught up with the birthmom and then the drugs. It was sad to watch the notebook with his poetry go from great to scribbles.
I love how Randall got his name and how the mom bonded with him. I wonder how it's going to play out that the mom had met him...and told him to stay away.

I love this show!!! I feel bad that Rebecca kept William away. He seemed like a nice guy with an interest in his son. I feel like she should have let him be involved...at least later on. But I love how they explain the names. It still kills me that she's not with Jack anymore!!
And can I love Toby even more!? what a great guy! and Kevin is an awesome brother for firing his sister and forcing her to have a life. good for him!

I wonder if she only saw him the 1 time or if she stay in touch with him over the years.
Remember he did have a drug problem. So I can understand why she didn't want him in his life.
I'm sure we'll find out! I like the way they touch on everything.
And seriously Toby is the best! What a sweetheart.

I like this show but still, after 3 episodes I don't LOVE it like I had hoped. It's a good show, just not super great. Maybe my expectations were too high.

I was shocked when Rebecca went in to talk to William and you find out that they had met. I feel bad for him because you can tell he was a good person who just went down the wrong path. But he clearly regrets it and wants to be a part of his son's life.
It seemed to me that Randall really doesnt like his mom's husband. At least based on their short interaction. I can't wait to find out why Jack isn't in the picture any more. It makes me sad that he and Rebecca aren't still married.

I am wondering why Randall doesn't like his mom's new husband. That seemed really awkward.
I am glad that Kate and Kevin are separating. They were very co-dependant.
I am interested to see what develops as the babies grow into toddlers etc...
