Anyone ever get a shower with a 2nd child?
Just wondering.
In other states I know there is a baby shower for every kid you have and it is normal. Here in LI I am not so sure.

I think a small shower for baby #2 is perfectly fine and acceptable

most people here do not do one for a second baby. ii have heard of people having "sprinkles".... smaller parties with maybe a few new items. i've never been to or have been invited to a sprinkle.

i just had my 2nd shower yesterday... it was much smaller then my first and it was more or less just friends hanging out...
but it was still very nice and my friends are so generous.
my 1st shower was mostly family (i was only on LI for about a year) so i didnt not have many LI friends, this shower was just LI friends and immediate family
EDIT: my 1st is a  and he will be 23 months and 1 week older than  when she is born.

I don't think most people have a second one, unless there are many years between children or maybe someone that has all boys and is now having a girl. I personally don't see a problem with having a second one, but if it were me, I would want it to be much smaller and not as big of a deal... just close friends and family.

I am having a shower. I'm pregnant w/ my 2nd. I am having a girl. I have a son who is twelve, so I needed everything all over again.

I know that this is a "hot" topic here as many think it is a faux pas. However, I think it is fine.
In fact, I was just thrown a surprise shower a week ago. I didn't know about it and it was small and great! My first was a girl and #2 is a boy so I received a ton of boy clothes which was great as I really did not have any clothes for him.

Yes. My friends threw me one - not something we do for each other normally, but because my father passed away recently and I wasn't really able to enjoy the pregnancy, and because we went through 2 years of infertility and had to spend over $40k in fertility treatments, they thought it would be a nice gesture.
And, my work is throwing me one. But they do that for every single pregnancy, no matter how many children.
