Anyone Day 5 Transfer-IVF
I am so torn right now-I am going in tomorrow for my transfer which will be on day 5. When we signed the consent forms we decided to transfer one embryo on day 5 or two on day 3. After the day 3 transfer was canceled, I was kind of depressed because the possibility of having twins wouldn't be there anymore. Now the Day 5 transfer is tomorrow, and all I keep thinking about is should be stick with one like we decided or ask for two. Has anyone dealt with this before that can put my mind at ease?

having never been thru IF i don't have any advice (you may want to post this on IF too) but i think that if you and your DH are "second-guessing" your decision to only put back one, then see if your RE will let you put back 2.

We did a day 5 transfer and because of my OHSS they were suggesting we only put one back. However, like you we kind of liked the idea that we could have twins so we made the last mintue decision to put two back and the RE had no problem with that. Both stuck initially, but we lost on early on (around 7weeks). Luckily the other one hung on and I'm now 27 weeks with one! If you are ok with twins then I would go for two. You are not guaranteed both will stick and it will up your chances of success to have on sticky one (although they do tell you it makes no difference, I have a hard time believing that!!)

Replied on IF - but we are now pg with a singleton on a 5 day transfer (wanted to trans 2 but because of risk of OHSS was persuaded not to) Good Luck !

I transferred 2 on Day 3. The decision was mostly based on the fact that we paid out of pocket and wanted the best chances. Theoretically-Day 5 embies are supposed to be stronger but I'm not sure I buy that. I am now pregnant with twins.

I put back 3 embies and 1 stuck! I would not just put one back!!!!! I would def. put 2 if not 3. At least your chances will increase. That's just my opinion. Good luck and think positive!
