What about one of the "time to wake up" clocks (sorry I can't direct link from my phone)

Does he have toys/books in his room he can play with?

How old is your DS? My 3.5 year old did that until we moved up his bedtime. Now he will sleep until 630-7. Also we found once he dropped his nap, he slept later in am.

My 2.5 year old has always been an early riser & currently he wakes around 530-545. We will lounge on the couch, he watches shows & I can close my eyes until my older gets up.

My ds was getting up at 5 everyday so we moved his bedtime an hour later and limit his nap in the afternoon to 2 hours. He now gets up at 6:15 which is much more bearable. We then watch Sesame Street in bed.
