any stores that sell nice beachy decor items?
I am looking for some accessories for my new place
I am doing a "beach chic" theme...
I found a few cute things are homegoods and christmas tree store
but I would love to be able to find more stuff
I am leaning towards starfish and coral items
TIA!
I will post pics of what I have done so far soon- I promise

Khol's had Coral Pilar Candle Holders and a bunch of other beach themed items. A craft store will sell shells for cheap. Plus they may have items on sale now. I was at the craft store in Howard Beach and they have a ton of items left over-

Take a ride to the Nautical Mile in Freeport. I bought tons of stuff when we decorated our apartment:
Lights, shells, artwork, coral, coasters, everything! Plus, its pretty reasonable and all of their stuff is unique. I really do not think you will be disappointed if you take a trip. There are several local stores and many many many restaraunts to have lunch/dinner/cocktails/live music. Take a friend and you will have a nice time.

We did a beachy theme with our house. We got alot of stuff at Pottery Barn, they have some nice coral at Crate and Barrel, Homegoods. Then just random little nautical stores - there is a cute one in Port Jeff. Also Jim Shore (www.jimshore.com) has alot of cute stuff.
ETA: I bought alot of stuff online too. There are tons of beach decor sites. I also got stuff at The Company Store, Orvis (cute seashell wreath, I need a new one cause the cats clawed it up), ZGallerie, Wind & Weather, Gumps San Francisco

Beth I was at Peter Andrews on Hillside Ave. today and thought of you. They had some really nice stuff in the window. I know they are having a big sale too.
I also did really well at Big Lots. Don't know if they still have them, but I got bags of mixed sea glass with shells.
Tomorrow it's 20% off from 5-9 pm sort of a friends and family.

I decorated my beached theme den with alot of stuff from pottery barn and have since added pictures that we took at the beach and other beach inspired pics. If you want some ideas let me know and I can send you some pics.

Inhabitliving.com has pillows in kelp and coral prints - interesting colors.
The ones I'm referring to are toward the bottom of the page.
The also have wall prints. Not sure of your colors but I like the ones that they use.

I was going to mention Peter Andrews as well. When I used to live in Long Beach, my MIL got me a bunch of cute stuff from there to have a "beach theme" to the apartment.

we have a beach themed guest bedroom and I have had the most luck at home good, marshalls, even michaels.
Nothing beats going out east to the north fork and rumaging through the antique stores
