God Bless them! I cant imagine! Chat Icon Chat Icon

I felt so bad today, the cesspool company had to come, and they were out there a good hour or 2.

My heart broke that they had to be out there. I even asked him if it was something that could wait till Spring, but it wasnt Chat Icon

I made them coffee and tea and gave a nice tip.

We never realize the little things we complain about, and how others might have it even harder.

and they were SOOO nice, polite and great to work with throughout the whole couple of hours.

To anyone that works outdoors, bless you! Chat Icon

That was so thoughtful of you! I'm sure they really appreciated it.Chat Icon Chat Icon

They did Chat Icon It was the least I could do. I felt so obligated to offer them SOMETHING. I was even considering making them soup Chat Icon Chat Icon so I asked them if they wanted coffee or tea, and brought it outside to them.

the guy must have thought I was nuts cuz I was like "if you need to come in to warm up, please do" thank God I had my 3 kids in the house or he would have thought I was hitting on them! Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon

I just felt so bad that they had to be out there.. and then I told my hubby, well if it wasnt our house, it would be another house, this is their line of work Chat Icon
there should be some type of automatic machines to melt through ice for them. what the heck, we have machines that do EVERYTHING nowadays, and they had to stand there with shovels digging through a foot of ice. Chat Icon

Anna you're very sweet. You must be a good friend to have!

DS does security on the midnight shift (so it is even colder at night) for a private community in the city and sometimes he is outside on foot patrol or outside doing security checks.

My Dad is always outdoors fixing things. You know how our fathers are. My dad just got over a stomach virus and he was outside shoveling snow. I told my mom that Rob would do it when he got home from work but no they never listen. Rob was like "why don't they ever ask for my help with anything"...I'm always like "oh Rob don't you know them by now? they will never ask for help you gotta just jump in and help, don't even ask if they need the help because they will always say no even though they want it but feel bad asking"

DH does he's a firefighter... He just told me they are on their way out to check hydrants... I hope they don't have a fire. The night of the big fire in the Rockaways they were out there from 12 - 5 am... It was the coldest night of the year...

For the most part, DH doesn't.

But if you think its a PITA to scrap the ice off your car, try having to do it to over 100 on the lot!! Chat Icon

My S/O does, he managers a car wash. I can't believe how many people get their car washed in tis kind of weather.

He wears 3 or 4 layers under his one piece quilted jumpsuit. He says without that jumpsuit he'd be frozen.
