Any NYC teacher fear losing their jobs due to budget cuts?
I *think* I am safe but we were told that there were be cuts in the budget in the middle of the year and at the end. The city will be cutting jobs last (supposedly)

No BUT...I'm concerned. I'm not too worried because I have a certain certification that has saved me many times.

DH isnt too concerned, there are a handful of teachers that have less senority, and enrollment is up in his school bc a lot of parents couldnt afford private school and put them in the public school.

No. I have 8 years in the system and the fourth or fifth most seniority in my department of thirty teachers. I am pretty secure right now.

I am low on the totem pole in my school. Last year was my first year and I was excessed. Now it is my first year in this school so I am the newbie.
But on the other hand, I do not see how they can cut teachers. All our classes are filled to the brim so how can they cut teachers, where would all of these students go?
