NYC TEACHERS: BUDGET CUTS??
Hey NYC Gals,
Have your school budgets been slashed as drastically as mine was this week? My school (HS) is going crazy, trying to get comp. time position holders to do free coverages, slashing per session etc.
Has this happened to anyone else's school? How is your administration handling it?

Yes, this happened to us this week. We were cut about $80,000 thanks to Mr. Klein. So far my prinicipal has:
stopped afterschool immediately
no more out of school TC workshops
fired the intervention dean
informed our AIS teachers that they will be taking over the 6 maternity leaves, instead of hiring replacements
and said there will be more positions cut.
It's pretty intense!
