Any career change
teachers out there? I always wanted to be a math teacher but never had the push to change my major in college. So I am in accounting and am beginning to hate it more and more. Does anyone have any help or ideas or been in a similar situation?

FH was an accounting major. until his senior year he decided to become a history teacher. i couldnt picture him doing anything else.
I was going to be an accounting major, but I decided to do finance - there is so much you can do with that degree.

Yes....took 3-4 classes each semester and worked as a teaching assistant while I was getting my Masters....It was the best way IMO...Being a TA helped me to get great experience yet I had nothing to take home with me so I could concentrate on my school work

YEP!! went from accounting to math teacher. I believe there are quite a few of us here who made that change.
It took me 18 months from start to finish (including a Master's degree).

I also did the same thing.
I finished my accounting degree Aug 04.
I went to Dowling starting the late session in Oct 04...and worked my butt off. I graduated Aug 05.
I am currently Math certified and I submitted my paperwork a few weeks ago to be Business certified as well. (can't hurt)
I was working full-time for the Fall and Winter session, then I didn't work in the spring when I student taught.
