Another question about the angel care monitor?

We have this monitor but have yet to use it since we will only be putting dd in her crib this weekend. I wanted to know...can the monitor be used without the sensor part of it. I am not sure I want to use the sensor part of it but I need the monitor part obviously. It works right?

Yes, that is what we use. Just unplug the plug that goes into the base monitor and push the lever to "sound only". Works great.

I just dont know if I should hook it up for the sensor. Megan is a very still sleeper usually and I would think that it would be going off every second. I am not totally sure of what it is supposed to detect...no breathing? Or just no movement at all because there are hours at a time when Megan just stays in the same position sleeping..wouldnt it just constantly keep going off if that were the case?

We used it from day 1 in her bassinet, and love it! You CAN use it w/o the sensor. But I loved the sensor, I could rest easy knowing if she stopped breathing I would know (God forbid).
