TBh Im kind of sick of all the science science talk when racial and social injustice has been around for years. That is what is most important not whether people believe in science. I get it, the pandemic is serious and we need a plan but it's not the only issue or the most important issue. I find it so ironic, but no one gave a crap about science when the AIDS epidemic was killing all the minorities and gays in the 80s.
The virus has been around for 8 months, we have been treated like crap for years. I am happy with the outcome, because I feel it brings a sense of peace and calm. But I am worried about the economy and lockdowns as a knee jerk reaction to a virus that isn't going anywhere any time soon.
I put my faith and hope in Biden. I hope he does work with both parties and we can see this country healing itself. But only time will tell.
Biden himself could work with both sides. Unfortunately he has people like pelosi whispering in his ear. I don’t have a problem with Biden, I wouldn’t usually be upset if a democrat is in office. It’s all the pelosi like people that scare the crap out of me, including Harris.
And I’m sure trump would have worked better with the other side if they didn’t come at him with guns drawn.
You're concerns are valid with Biden.
With Trump, I feel that he is the opposite. He doesn't listen to anyone, not even his own people. I truly feel Trump could never work with anyone that doesn't want to fulfill his needs or agenda. He reminds me of many egotistical CEO's I have worked with. I've seen them destroy their own companies to the point of closure, just to be right.
I am happy but I do pray and sympathize with the many who are upset. I may not agree with their views but it doesn't mean the persons feelings aren't invalid. I know what that feels like.

Why do you think Pelosi is in Biden's ear? What evidence?
Trump had Senate and all that was done was push judges through. Oh, an a tax package that is good for the rich.
There are 3 branches of government. If Senate holds the majority for Republicans, there is your check and balance.
A sitting president attaching the legitimacy of the democratic process is much more dangerous. His unfounded conspiracy theories and rhetoric are much more damaging to democracy.
God help us that the last couple of months don't destroy the USA.
Side note - I hope the Bidens restore the Jackie's Rose Garden.

I don’t think it’s fear mongering. Cuomo started putting restrictions again and Murphy is closing school in certain districts because of the numbers. Even though hospitalizations are still low and not an issue. So it’s a valid concern that restrictions may be put in place because the numbers went up. I don’t think he’s going to become president and just shut down the whole country. I hope he is reasonable with Covid and not on the other end of the spectrum, where Trump is too laxed.
We need someone in the middle! That takes the advice of the specialists and scientists but at the same time thinks of the people and the economy.

Yes, but in areas with high numbers, there needs to be certain restrictions. Cuomo only puts restrictions on areas seeing spikes, he removed a lot of NYC from restrictions yesterday. Biden should impose lockdowns, and he probably will. But I don't think it's going to be a blatant all 50 states thing.

I do he think he will be given a tough hand in regards to COVID. The inauguration is about 4 weeks after the December holidays.
Between cold winter, holiday gatherings, and traveling, numbers will most definitely be in the rise.

Hospitals is other states are overwhelmed. Their death rates are increasing due to this. If we can keep hospitalizations levels low here, we can continue to keep deaths low. This requires us to continue to wear masks and socially distance ourselves.

In 2000, nobody called the election until Florida was recounted, because it was so up in the air. This clearly is not up in the air. Biden received 290, Trump 214. It's over.

I can deal with a Biden presidency, but a Harris one? She is so ultra left it is scary. I wish he had picked a more centrist running mate. I worry about his health, and she can seriously become president. I do not think many Americans really thought about that one. I wonder if they will court pack now. I expect much higher taxes, more government and free college. I'm hoping the Senate stays red.

I am so so so happy. best news of 2020.
I will say, however, that I'm disappointed that only 55% of white women voted for biden. Not sure if that's accurate, but a friend told me that statistic and I was really upset to hear that.
