All this talk about money....(spinoff)

makes me feel extremly poor!!

some of the amounts on the board spent on mortages and other things-i could NEVER afford!

there is NO WAY me n DH could get a house maybe if i sell this azz

i guess i never realized how low we are paid

um...right there with you!!! Guess it's all in what you love doing and what you're willing to sacrifice for happiness. Me, I sacrificed A LOT of money....to be a measly NYC cop....but I LOVE LOVE LOVE my job and it will be a major stepping stone for me to go to the Feds. So, for now, we sacrifice and don't make a lot---but we're both happy. He's in medical school and I do my thing. Yes, we can't have $2300 in car payments/month....but we both have new jeep grand cherokees and own a house. It IS possible....just have to stay away from those darn Coach bags!!!

I am in the same boat as you - but just think....there are people out there much worse than us you know?

We live paycheck to paycheck. Some peoples mortgages are more than all our monthly bills combined and we are still struggling!

Im looking for a house and scared SH*T about it but part of life.

After that, I will be more poor than I am already.

my friends are taking 5 trips per year, always shopping, but I never go because all my $$ is goign into my savings account!

and when they ask "where are you guys going to live" and I tell them we are looking to buy a house on LI - they look at me like "wow you guys must be rich, how can u afford that"

we're far from rich- we just dont spend money on things we dont need- i am on vacation from work this week - and I did wedding planning and hung out at home - no trip for us until our honeymoon!

DH sometimes gets down about money. I turn to him and tell him that we are much richer for having found true love!!!! Some people can never say that!!

Yeah...I just finished reading that post and I have a big knot in my stomach...I don't think we'll ever be able to afford a mortgage as some of the numbers posted...we are trying to colse on a little one bedroom co-op and its going to be tight paying the mortgage on that...I really NEED to make more money...after the wedding I'm all going to be all over Craigs list and Monster

Money ISN'T everything... at all... but let's all try to remember that those people who do have more, and have more expenses, aren't necessarily "unhappy" or making sacrifices in their lives to HAVE money. Right now Dh and I live very comfortably, AND I'm living my dream as an attorney (ok ok I hate my job, but I'm actively searching for a new one) and DH is living his dream owning his own business. But we both encountered serious toils to get to this place. DH had to live in his partner's house for almost 2 years when they started the business until he could afford to rent his own place. I quit my well-paying job in HR to go back to school to get my J.D., and lived totally and completely penniless for 3 years...

Money is definately not everything. I am one of the fortunate ones that bought a house at 25. We bought when the market was very high & it was very scary. Now after being in the house a year, things are easier then they were, but they are by no means a piece of cake.

We made sacrafices but in our eyes, they were well worth it. We both lived home with our parents until we purchased our home. It is all part of life & all the scary changes that you make.

Yep its def hard. Esp on LI. We were SO lucky that Dh's parents gave us an EXTREMELY nice engagemnet gift and then lent us the other half of our down payment, otherwise we would NEVER have our co-op!!!

Do you know how many rich people in this world are actually miserable?!?!?...You would be VERY surprised!!

It's the people in your life that make you happy NOT money so every time you think about your finances refer back to this post, that should put a smile on your face

Oh and it took DH and I a lot of saving to get our house...believe me it doesn't come easy.
