After school snack ideas????
My boys come home from school STARVING. They walk in ravenous and are eating way too much junk. What are some healthy, substantial snacks that I can give them? A vege tray is not happening -- they won't eat it.

Favorites for my kids:
Crackers and cheese
Pistachios or almonds
Apple and string cheese
Yogurt and pretzels or goldfish.
Pretzel Rods with spinach dip.
Pumpkin or zucchini bread with cream cheese
Each served with a big glass of milk, hot cocoa or water.
Friday is junk day.. they can have cookies, cupcake, pie.. whatever junky dessert I have.. or a small bag of Doritos or Cheese Doodles.

They eat:
Pizza Rolls
Fruit plate
banana muffins
crackers & nutella
pudding
Yogurt
Pretzels
We eat dinner early around here (between 5-6) so that helps.

string cheese and turkey pepperoni
Apple slices
Mandarin oranges
Wheat wrap with couple of slices of turkey and slice of cheese and lettuce (nuk for 15 sec)
pita chips and hummus
cheese nips
PB&J
cheese crackers
Yogurt

what's wrong with three cookies with a glass of milk that ALWAYS gets refilled b/c they drink so much milk when they have something sweet to go with it!
otherwise, it's nuts or seeds... every now and again chips.

Nothing is wrong with cookies.. except my kids get a serious sugar rush and can't focus on their homework if they have them. That's why we wait until Friday when they don't have homework!
I still remember my mom always having a plate of cookies for us after school. They usually weren't homemade.. but it is such a nice memory!
