We have new windows in our house, and there are tags on all the windows about the safety issues with screens. It's on the tag that you have to hold to install the screen, so you can't miss it. That tag is also always visible when you open the window. DC's bedrooms are on the 2nd floor, so I am very conscious of the window situation.
I'm so glad their son made it through OK.....
