I think its really sweet if a man does that however, DH will not under any circumstances which really annoys me sometimes.

I personally don't see anything wrong with it, especially if he's trying to help her out. So long as he doesn't throw it over his shoulder.

Same here! As a matter of fact my DH will take my bag for me at times.

He has held it for me, not does not walk around with it. I will ask him to hold it for a "second" while I look at something - he usually counts to one then puts it on the floor. Chat Icon I just give him a look and he will pick it up and hold it until I'm done.

It's never more than a minute or two.

I would never expect my dh to hold my bag if i had nothing in my hands. that makes no sense to me.

My DH holds it for a second if I need him to but not "carry" it around.

I think it's akin to having a man buy your pads or tampons. Totally unnecessary.

not true. if DH is with me and I am juggling stuff at the store - like clothes. what's the big deal if he holds it for me for a minute? he doesn't love it, but he does it to help me.

its not like I ask him to hold it while we're taking a walk Chat Icon

I agree! SInce I have been pregnant DH always holds my bag when we are out and about walking around - I mean unless we are talking about a little purse I find it extremely nice of him to be so thoughtful Chat Icon

Not if I have nothing in my hands.....I've only asked him to hold it for a minute to get out of the car or something...

Only if I am busy doing something. He doesn't put it over his shoulder or anything. But, if I need him to hold it, he will.

I say more power to a woman who can get her man to do this. If I ever need JT to hold my bag for a second, he rolls his eyes and holds it away from his body on one finger. However, it is a rare occasion that I would emasculate him that wayChat Icon

Omg that sounds like my DH. Chat Icon

he doesn't carry it for me, but will hold it for me when I use a public restroom, or am trying on clothes, or putting on my coat...

Re: A man carrying his "woman's" handbag...

Nah, DH would never hold my bag even for a second. He would rather take whatever is hindering from holding my handbag so that I can hold my own bag. He always acts like I am asking him to hold a plague and I get thisChat Icon Chat Icon

Re: A man carrying his "woman's" handbag...

actually, DH had to carry my purse around for about two weeks last month, when I injured my back. I could barely hold MYSELF up, much less balance myself with a purse.

One of the things I love most about my DH is that he's not the "stereotypical" male...he's not above doing certain things that most guys wouldn't do.

Re: A man carrying his "woman's" handbag...

I don't like the way it looks but I love the fact that DH does it without caring about what anyone else thinks. He has recently had to carry it when I was sick.
