Re: Ocean City, NJ - Columbus Day weekend
haven't been on columbus day weekend... but i went to college about 20 minutes from there. its GREAT!! theres a boardwalk with lots to do- i'm not sure when the rides and stuff close down for the season, but its great to just walk around. its a "Dry" town, so theres not bars of liqour stores on the island, which helps keep out a lot of the trashy "jersey shore" element LOL its prety close to AC, so you could tkae a ride there- and the Cape May Zoo isn't too far away either

Re: Ocean City, NJ - Columbus Day weekend
I would def check into waht is open. I used to spend my summers on Long Beach Island and once Labor Day passed it would turn into a ghost town.
many restaurants close after labor day and Im sure the boardwalk will at the very least have reduced hours.

Thanks for the reply. Now I know to bring my own liquor! The Zoo is a great thing to know!

Thanks, I'll check into the restaurants for sure. I know the boardwalk is having a big Columbus day Festival so I know that'll be open.

Re: Ocean City, NJ - Columbus Day weekend
My parents have a condo in OCNJ and we go all the time at all times of the year. OC is great..very very family friendly. I have been there on Columbus Day weekend and it is a busy weekend down there especially if the weather is nice. There is a big craft and street festival that weekend downtown and the boardwalk will still be busy..not every single thing will be open but alot will. The weather should still be nice too for beach time. In fact, I remember about 4 years ago being down there for that festival when it was about 90 and we got in some great beach time! Go and have fun..we love OC!
ETA: there are big liquor stores on the way into town before the bridge so you can stop there for your booze. thats what we always do!
