Returning recalled dropside crib to WalMart? UPDATE

I bought DD's crib in 2009, then in early 2010 they recalled it and i had to get the repair kit to immobilize the drop side feature, then in late 2010 the govenment has banned them and told all parents to destory or dispose of these cribs. We bought this crib planning to use it for a few kids, not barely one child, now we have to get another crib which was unexpected. It's the Graco Lauren dropside crib.
Would WalMart take back this crib for store credit? Is there anything i can do or am i out the money now?

UPDATE:
WalMart will take the crib back since it is part of the recall list and i confirmed that with my crib's model number. When WalMart emailed me back this is what they said:

Thank you for contacting Walmart.com regarding the recalled crib.

You may return any item(s) currently on recall by the manufacturer purchased
from Walmart.com to your local Walmart store.

To return in-store, take your item along with all packaging to the Customer
Service desk for a refund or exchange.

NOTE: Items outside of the return timeframe are returnable in store as long as
the specified item is identified as a recall when the return is initiated.
Packing slips and/or invoices are not required to return recalled items.

I'm not sure what Walmart would do? I just bought the Graco Lauren crib a couple months ago for my DD from Walmart.com. (Mine isn't dropside, they probably changed it) I had to order new pieces for it because of some damage to some of the wood. I had to call the actual company which actually isn't Graco. You might be able to contact the same company and ask them about returning the crib? If you like the crib, they may just send you out the newer one without the dropside? They have been soooo nice to work with and sent out a few parts with no problems at all.

We've got the same crib, same situation. WalMart will not give you the $ back. Ours started to chip, so the company wound up sending us a new one due to the chipping, but the gov. just banned the sale of them, they did not instruct people who have them to return to stores for a refund.

I don't know how many stores would survive if they were forced to give reimbursement for the cribs a few years after they were purchased.

A friend of mine tried this and they wouldn't return it.

I'm curious, did you return yours yet? and did walmart actually give you store credit for a new one?
