I will continue to keep you and your little bean in my prayers...sorry about the good and not so good news but hopefully from here on out it will only be GOOD NEWS!!! you definitly deserve it with everything that has been going on...stay stong for your little one.....sending many  and  your way.

Sending you tons of We had a rough pregnancy and ended up delivering at LIJ.It felt like every test we had we got bad news. He had fluid in his kidneys, an omphaloceole, they thought something was wrong with his heart and the list went on and on. I had an amnio too and the wine really relaxed me. I delivered 6 weeks early. My son had surgery 3 weeks later and was in the NICU for 41days. Loved LIJ! He is now very healthy and doing great. Stay strong!

Thanks for the new update, Helen! You sound unbelievably strong and optimistic through all of this -- I am so incredibly impressed. I would be a puddle of a mess and would totally withdraw and couldn't be posting like you are. You and your baby are in my continued thoughts!!! Hoping for more and more good news and they keep monitoring and testing!

Thanks for sharing this!! So what was the surgery your son ended up having? For his heart or kidneys? Also, did they push you to have a c-section b/c of the complications? And was your delivery scheduled that early or did you go into labor on your own? Sorry for all the questions, but my mind has been going 100mph today! Glad to hear you loved LIJ!

Thanks Sandra! Posting on LIF has actually been a huge help..... when I hear about other moms who went through the same thing and their LO is fine, it gives me so much hope!

i was thinking about you and came to check up.
i have full faith in the doctors at LIJ/Cohens, my DD was in their NICU. they are the best!

He ended up having a diaphragmatic hernia and they had to fix that. He may need surgery for his kidneys but for now we are hoping they mature and his kidneys will be fine. When he was born he had an episode of SVT I think it's called. His heart was racing really fast so now we are under the care of Dr. Blaufox and on medicine for the next year. He was also born with a cleft palate and will need surgery on that in October. I went in for a routine doctors appointment and ended up gaining 10 pounds in a week and had protein in my urine. I was sent to the hospital right away due to pre-eclampsia. My doctor said I could be induced or have a c-section. It was December 22, I had not had anything to eat in over 24 hours and I just wanted him out, I was 34 weeks. He weighed in at 5 pounds 13oz so he was a good weight he just had a ton of things wrong with him. He is doing great now thanks to early intervention and great doctors.
I know how you feel. They sent us for a fetal echo and that was so terrifying. Feel free to FM me if you need anything! I loved LIJ and I was in the old wing, I didn't make it to the new wing.

You and your LO continue to be in my thoughts and prayers. It sounds as though you are in great hands with the drs. you have seen, and that you and your DH have good reason to be hopeful! I truly pray that you get good news on Monday!
