Anyone know anything about insurance and canceling your insurance
I am probably going to be switching to Geico SOON However my insurance is not up until August BUT I am with the crappiest company ever....I have heard that they are going bankrupt...Geico told me that by law the other company would have to refund the money I have paid if I cancel my insurance with them....
I would like to hear any imput especially if you are in the insurance industry...TIA

I'm not in the insurance industry but you should be able to cancel at any time and they would refund the portion of insurance you do not use.

I'm not in the insurance industry but you should be able to cancel at any time and they would refund the portion of insurance you do not use.
I agree - I pay monthly for mine.

FI recently switched his car insurance to AllState (what I have) His prior insurance company sent him a refund check a few weeks later...

Basically you are entitled to cancelling anytime. Make sure you do contact your previous carrier so they can send a refund which is pro-rated.
