For even the most content couple, there comes a time when both become bored of your current day to day schedule. If you’re looking for a way to spice up your lifestyle together it may be time to see about new hobbies for you both to invest in, together. A little excitement from a new hobby is a great way to reconnect and rekindle your relationship while also exploring new possibilities.

A great weekend hobby to try together is local traveling, exploring all the attractions and landmarks within a couple hour proximity of your home. It’s amazing how many people right here on Long Island have never explored the Forks or have never climbed the steps to the top of Montauk Lighthouse. Set destination goals for reaching different destinations, one at a time. You’ll be amazed how exciting your getaways can be without ever leaving the Island.

If you both appreciate the outdoors make a promise to go hiking or biking in a new location every weekend. There are many local parks and preserves for you to find to trek through on a beautiful Saturday morning, bringing you closer together as you also bond with your natural surroundings. If you both enjoy biking, set out for a different destination each weekend. Do a search of the most bike-friendly villages on the Island; go for a long ride, seeing the sites, and stopping at local shops for little souvenirs and coffee.

Cooking for many people isn't just a necessity: many people thoroughly enjoy creating new, artistic meals with ingredients that inspire them. If your beau also has a bit of a culinary flair (or can at least boil water without burning it) why not look into taking cooking classes together? Many community centers, libraries, and community colleges in the area offer culinary classes for interested locals. Spice up your relationship with new cuisines and baked delicacies. Nothing brings a couple closer than mastering new skills together.
