Restaurant for DH's bday tomorrow night? suffolk county
I am trying to figure a place to take DH for his bday for dinner tomorrow night. We are in Hauppauge so anywhere around there is good.
Any new suggestions for somewhere nice? Not a steakhouse. We haven't been out in a few months.

There is a very nice Italian Resturaunt on Motor Parkway in Hauppage just before you cross over the LIE.
Its a little fancy, nice bar and great food!

I haven't been there in ages, but I used to love it there!
My brother went there recently and told me they changed it. That the portions got smaller and skimpy. He doesn't go there too often but he said he did notice this. Friends of his live over there and commented that yes, it changed for hte worse.

There is a very nice Italian Resturaunt on Motor Parkway in Hauppage just before you cross over the LIE.
Its a little fancy, nice bar and great food!

i love La Famiglia in Smithtown on Rt. 25A. DELICIOUS!!!!! It's family style though, so you can mix and match and share. they also have a little bar area too. gets crowded though but the food is amazing. even my VERY picky from Italy FIL likes the food.

Yes, that's sort of how he described it. That it tried to get all gourmet. They ordered an appetizer of short ribs and he said like 4 tiny ribs came criss crossed on the plate. It was ridiculous. And they ordered fondue and it didn't even come with strawberries or bananas, two of the main fruits that taste great dipped in chocolate.
So they weren't happy.-

If you like sushi, Kotobuki (sp?) is supposed to be excellent. Also Thai Angel in the Islandia shopping center is really good. I don't know if you're looking for a fancier place though.

DH and I absolutely love this place...it is small, intimate and romantic....and the food is fabulous!!! we used to go there for all our special occassions when we lived in Nesconset. Everyone is so nice and treat you just like family.

I haven't been to Sweetwaters recently, but the fondue was amazing when we were there last.
Gasho's is fun in Hauppauge on Motor Parkway.
Red Dish in Commack has a great Martini Bar and the food was decent. link
I've heard great things about H2O in Smithtown - link
There's also some great places in Huntington. But we usually avoid Huntington on the weekends. It just gets so crowded.
