What was the worst car you ever owned?

I'm sure most of us have had quite a few cars. What was the worst car you owned?

I had quite a few.

'86 Isuzu 'Pup. That had so much rust, I was afraid to wash it because I think the dirt was holding it together. It leaked about a quart of oil a week, but it would have cost a few hundred to drop the engine to replace the oil pan gasket. At that time, I figured it would have taken a year or more to equal the cost of the lost oil, so I just kept refilling it. Chat Icon I had to keep one foot on the gas for the first mile or so, otherwise it would stall. At stop signs, I would use my left foot to stop, and feather the gas with the right... definitely not safe... The door handle was broken on the inside, so I had to wiggle it and pull the cable to get it to open. Again, very unsafe... Chat Icon

'89 Honda Civic. The first manual tranny car I owned. That car had so many issues....

'74 Chevy Vega. My first car. It had a tiny 4 cylinder engine that could barely move the car. One time, on a long straight downhill road, I literally stood on the gas pedal and got up to 74mph...

I had a bunch of boring cars, but they weren't "bad"... a couple of Reliant "K cars", Pontiac Ventura, '86 t-bird, etc.

I didn't own a car until I was 25 so I never had a bad car. Benefits of living in the city is that by the time you get a car you can afford something that's not a broken down piece of crap!

I don't remember the year but back in 1997 DH and I had a $hitty, old Mercury Sable with no A/C and we lived in FL at the time. It was a POS. I wasn't sad to see that one go. LOL

I had a 1982 Delta 88. You had to warm it up for like 20 minutes and keep a brick on the gas pedal while you did. It was a beast.

Re: What was the worst car you ever owned?

My first car was the worst car, but the one I have now isn’t too great either.

1st car- 1980 Oldsmobile Cutlass. I don’t know how my dad let me buy that. Biggest piece of crap ever. I did learn how to start a flooded engine with a screwdriver in the carburetor, though.

The car I have now is a 2004 Peugeot 206 CC. I don’t really drive it much (put on 4,500 miles in 3 1/2 years), but I feel like something always goes wrong with it. I bought it off of some kid who obviously couldn’t pay all the repairs that came up which I didn’t know about…

I just replaced the clutch and now the gears feel funny when I shift. I don’t know if it is because the clutch is new or not. I’ve been driving manual for about 20 years, but I have not experienced a transmission go before. It has no A/C, but that’s OK because it is a convertible and, again, I barely drive it.

My dad had a ‘74 Vega!!! I loved that car when I was little! I remember when it finally died on the Oakdale merge!

They were popular with racers. The engine compartment was so big (I used to joke around that I could get under the hood, close the hood, and have enough room to work on the engine... Chat Icon ) that people would buy the cars, get rid of the stock motor, and put a huge 8 cylinder motor in there.

It was a cool looking car. It had that classic sports car look with the long hood and the very small trunk. It was so low to the ground that I had to drive the long way in the school parking lot to avoid the speed bumps. If not, I would drag the bottom of the car along them... Chat Icon

My first car 1990 Honda Civic. Got it used with a shit ton of miles on it. How it ever passed inspection is beyond me. I used to have to jump up and down with my foot stepping in the front door to shake it so it would start LOL
It was a great car to learn on that’s for sure. But a total piece of crap

What was the worst car you ever owned?

I always had decent cars. My best friend though has an awful Grenada. The floor was worn out so we could see the street and it leaked so we got wet every time it raining. It stalled at long lights. It was a piece of junk but we have the best memories driving around in that heap!! We loved it!!
