I do not see how someone can say there are no “plausible” long term effects of the vaccine. They cannot know this - yes they know about past vaccines but this is unlike any past vaccines. It is completely new technology being used on humans for the first time. And also - while it may be a small percentage, there ARE people who have already been injured or killed by the vaccine. So the plausible statement is a lie. I am not saying the risk isnt worth it or that people should not take it. But stop lying. If there had not been so many lies after lies over the past 14 months then maybe these so called experts would have some credibility left and there would not be so much vaccine hesitancy.

Unmask the children rally
Nobody should be forced to give their child this vaccine. I will most likely vaccinate my children, but that is my choice. I am very pro vaccine but still hope this particular shot is never mandated for children, or least not for the next few years. But the mask thing doesn't bother me. If they have to wear a mask, they have to wear a mask. It's a piece of cloth. My kids are so used to the masks by now, it really doesn't phase them, and the times they do complain, I tell them there are things in life we don't like to do that we have to anyway. Long after COVID their life will be full of things they have to do that they don't like. To be clear- I am not speaking about outdoor camp or 2 year olds at daycare. I am talking about school or being in a store. I would prefer my children to not have to wear masks at camp, but if they need to wear them for school in September, that's fine. As long as they are in school all year without being in and out for quarantines, I'll stick a mask on their face and send send on the bus.

Vaccines have been around for a long time and as long as they have been, there have been people panicking and losing their minds bc they’re all scared and it always is unfounded. We could be out of this mess already if people stopped being so selfish and only out for themselves. Get the vaccine, protect yourself and your fellow human.

Me (and my ilk) are all for listening to doctors and experts, absolutely. Which ones? Because there are plenty on both sides of the aisle.
By the way, Biden, Harris, Cuomo, CNN and celebrities are no more of experts than the facebook moms. Good thing I do not listen to them because originally, Cuomo and Harris emphatically said they do not trust this vaccine.
My and my kids have received all our vaccines throughout our lives. This is not an anti-vaccine issue. And I am not saying I will never get the covid shot. I just feel this is not the slam dunk decision that other people think it is.

But u see, that’s not the situation of others. Ur children can tolerate masks with absolutely no problem, that’s awesome. But that’s not the reality of other kids. Either because of special needs, or because it sets them back to a horrible experience they’ve had, or something else. Just because we’re having it easy, or easier, that doesn’t mean the same is happening to others. I hate reading comments of parents in the past that would say...but u just have to train them and get them used to wearing the mask. Well that’s pretty selfish to say and shows lack of empathy. Some families have struggled for more than a year with these mask mandates, they’ve struggled more than enough and it’s time to make masks optional.

At the end of the day, Steve Bellone and Laura Curran are county executives and have no control over mask mandates. Neither does the NYC mayor. If people want the mask mandate for children lifted, they need to be flooding Cuomo's office. Nobody else will be able to do anything.

It’s always someone else’s fault huh? It’s because they don’t stay home. It’s because they don’t wear masks. It’s because they don’t get the vaccine. We need to learn that we can’t depend on everyone cause there will always be people that have different opinions than us and will do different things than us. There will never be a world that had people with the same exact mentality, ever. The same applies to this vaccine. U got the vaccine? Awesome! U deserve a pat on the back and that million dollars that they’re apparently so eager to offer u. U’re protected so why the hell would u give a flying cucumber if someone doesn’t get vaccinated??

My choice to not vaccinate my kids is a very serious decision that I do not take lightly at all. It’s a decision that took me a pretty long time to get to and that have changed our destinies in ways that I never thought it would. It’s a decision that had brought us consequences where we have had to drastically change our lives simply because we live in a state like NY where a$$holes like Cuomo exist and get to dictate and pass draconian laws with absolutely no regard for the wellbeing of thousands and thousands of children. I understand the risks of vaccines very well from my own experiences and I have chosen not to put my children, who I will protect til I die, through those risks. I understand that and would never, ever expect or demand other parents to take those risks with their children to protect mine. After all, aren't we as parents supposed to do what’s best for our children? And just and FYI, an unvaccinated child does not mean they’re sick and will put other children at risk. But what it’s an actual fact is that my healthy children along with almost 30,000 other children are not allowed to go to school, not because they’re sick and put others at risk like they love to make it seem, but because we leave in a corrupt state where money and greediness come first. So don’t try to turn this against me and suggest I’m selfish for the decisions I’ve made for my family because that couldn’t be further from the truth. I’ll use ur own words and say u do not know me.

It is strange how people assume all the unvaccinated people have covid. All of them. All walking around as silent murderers. And yet. I personally know 3 people that have gotten covid recently after getting both shots (and after 2 weeks). Walking around spreading their vaccinated person covid freely through the air, infecting all in their path.

Fyi. I'm not vaccine skeptical. At all. Ever. My DD got Every shot per the CDC recommended schedule. Never delayed. A flu shot every year too. Even after she contacted a terrible case of flu AFTER being vaccinated. But yet I still give her a flu shot every year

It’s true; I don’t know you. But your comments here do paint quite a picture. You say the quotes I posted don’t make sense. Both were from doctors, one of which a Penn State epidemiologist. What are your credentials? The pandemic isn’t over just because you don’t want to “live in fear” anymore. Do you think anyone WANTS to live the way we have been? But we have to be smart and try to minimize risk to not just ourselves but to the people in the world with us.
You are right. Your attitude is incredibly selfish. And ignorant of the facts. And it’s because of people like you that this pandemic will never truly be over.

That’s not how this type of virus typically behaves. Mutations can potentially happen despise vaccination. Hello?!? Yoo-hoo?!? History has taught u nothing?? Retake a history course and see how humanity throughout time has adapted to viruses that have hit for the first time and how a new virus typically behaves. But go further than the measles and even polio, and u’ll find ur answer. If viruses mutated and spread so much because of unvaccinated people (everyone really, considering vaccines are relatively new), then the human race would have been long gone.

It is strange how people assume all the unvaccinated people have covid. All of them. All walking around as silent murderers. And yet. I personally know 3 people that have gotten covid recently after getting both shots (and after 2 weeks). Walking around spreading their vaccinated person covid freely through the air, infecting all in their path.
Over 12,000 tests yesterday, 80 with Covid. No one died. The fear mongering needs to stop.

Fyi. I'm not vaccine skeptical. At all. Ever. My DD got Every shot per the CDC recommended schedule. Never delayed. A flu shot every year too. Even after she contacted a terrible case of flu AFTER being vaccinated. But yet I still give her a flu shot every year

What are your credentials? The pandemic isn’t over just because you don’t want to “live in fear” anymore. Do you think anyone WANTS to live the way we have been? But we have to be smart and try to minimize risk to not just ourselves but to the people in the world with us.

Oh just stop. I just went out tonight as you were arguing over this sitting in your house with mask and gloves on to a crowded place where 99.9% did not have masks on and it was WON.DER.FUL. I have a good friend who wore a mask the entire night as he is worried as he has had Covid so I get it and would never make fun of him. We are at 0.7 today. We could be down to zero for days or weeks and people will still be saying everyone is selfish.

Exactly I have heard from many people that their Dr doesn't recommend the vaccine. But you will never see one of those on the news because that is not the message they want out there.

Yes, you are right. Perhaps I should be arrested for murder because I'm not blindly rushing to inject my daughter, who's risk for this virus is miniscule, with a brand new, not FDA approved vaccine.
All because you posted an out of context quote from some random doctor without any studies to back it up that claims there are zero long term side effects of this vaccine...when said vaccine hasn't even been out long enough to study any long term side effects. So that right there makes me discount anything that quack has to say.
Right there I stop listening.
