No battle, everyone is different. I am a dog person more as cats scare me. The only cat I have ever liked was my FIL’s who liked me and never scared me. Lol

Whether you like dogs or cats is not even remotely controversial. (at least it shouldn't be, in an on-line forum)

Both give me all the doggies and Kitties. Sadly, I developed bad allergies to dogs and cats in my old age. I currently have two pups and that will be it for me.

Up until about a year ago I would've answered just dog. But there have been some stray cats that have taken up residence in my yard and I just love them. I really want to open my door and let them in but my DD and DH are very allergic to cats.

Was never a cat person. I have 3 cats but I feel indifferent towards them lol. I hate everything to do with having cats, especially the nasty litterbox. I loved having dogs growing up but as an adult I was bitten twice by dogs and am no longer a fan. I guess I'm just not an animal person

Cats get a bad rap because they really love their owners and act very differently towards others. So if you weren’t raised by a cat, it’s unlikely that you know their full potential for amazing love and companionship. Cats are so much easier and less maintenance.
I was attacked by a dog as a small child and still fear large dogs. Small dogs I can be comfortable with but I cannot feel totally comfortable around a large and energetic dog.

Cats. Cats all the way. I have 3. In my life I have almost always had cats. There were only 8 months out of my life that I did not have cats. I love my cats so much that when I moved from Australia to Germany I brought them with me. And cats are the best, not kittens. Kittens are so difficult.
I don’t mind dogs. I just don’t want to take care of one. My 15 year old cat, Phoebe, is already a handful with her hyperthyroidism.
I love all animals (grew up with a vet tech sister), but cats are the one animal I can take care of the best.

I love all pets. We currently have 2 dogs and a couple of small lizards. We can’t have cats because my nephew is very allergic or is have at least 1. So I can’t say just one.
My husband and I are big animal lovers and will pretty much bring animals home just because lol

I am a huge animal lover. I have a cat and a dog... For years DH wouldn’t let me get a dog because he said they destroy your house. Finally he caved and our dog (a rescue) has brought so much joy to our lives. Although she did destroy some things, namely our wood floors, she is worth all of it!

I am a huge animal love and I like dogs, but they are way too needy.
Also, my father's Golden Retriever bit and almost killed my niece when she was two, so I have this slight mistrust when it comes to dogs.

This is me too.
My cousin's cat is so friendly and wants to be pet all the time and that's the only cat I really like - because it acts like a dog.
