Anyone Else with Snotty Kids?

This morning, my daughter came out of her room into the kitchen and I said to her "Only a few more days of school!" Her response was "Just because I'm down here, doesn't mean I want to be talked to!"

It is going to be a LOOONG summer! I am going to run back to the office -- virus or no virus! LOL!

Re: Anyone Else with Snotty Kids?

Oh yes. Mine will be 10 soon and the attittude is in full force.
I think being home so much isn't helping either.
Eveyrone is losing their minds.

I try to wake her up at a decent hour each morning because she would sleep until 11 if I let her and then she cant' sleep at night.

So I go in her room and rouse her and say- what do you want for breakfast? The other day she said- SLEEP! I want SLEEP for breakfast!

Lol - I originally thought you were going to complain about kids that have constantly running nose. My son does b/c he has a lot of environmental allergies and apparently doesn't notice his nose running anymore. Blech!

Thankfully, he's not yet talked back to me, but I told him there's no electronics until noon and his current favorite game, Roblox, is only allowed 1 hour a day. So I'm guessing I'll hear some snotty comment at some point!

My DD is 8 and got mad at me for something last night and wouldn't talk to me. Every time she wanted/needed something she would ask DH to ask me. Meanwhile, I was right there. LOL. It made me crack up, but I know in a few years, I'll be crying.

She'll be 12 in August. So, it's definitely the teenage personality coming out.

Re: Anyone Else with Snotty Kids?

I have felt the exact opposite. My 14 year old LOVES being home and is handling her work really well and is way more chill than when she was at school struggling with work and sports etc and not getting enough sleep. She is a much happier child now.

My son is more mellow anyway but he too is pretty chill during all this.

Wait and see I have probably just jinxed myselfChat Icon

Mine is no longer home all day. Her pre-k (in a daycare) reopened. She's 4.

"Are you excited to be going back to school?"
"I'm excited to not have to zoom with those kids anymore."
"You mean your friends?"
"No. I never liked them."

DS is 14 and I get those moments but during this time I have learned how to deal with his moods. Instead of raising my voice, I text him, as same as I do with DH Chat Icon DS is very sweet, but when he is moody Chat Icon
