Finally divorced!
This probably belongs in relationships, but it’s finally final!
Short backstory: My divorce took 2 1/2 years because ex was not cooperating.
I got a good deal in the end. I’m happy with the settlement and agreement. It has been a bit bittersweet, but I went out last night and celebrated.
The whole court thing was strange. I expected something else. We sat down in a room at a desk. The judge wore a black robe and a white scarf. Then all the lawyers put on black robes.
Then I had my interpreter. I can understand German fine, but for legal things I needed an interpreter. I thought she sucked as an interpreter. It was very confusing to sit there and hear both languages at the same time. I understood what was being said in German, but when I wanted to make something clear, I needed to do it in English. It was all very strange.
At one point I snapped at his lawyer. She has called me manipulative in previous emails to me. Even a few more things. I basically said that she was nasty for things she has said to me.
But anyway, it is done! I am single. Loving every minute of it! I’m so happy that I don’t have do any more paperwork for that.
