Fatty Liver Question....

Hello,

my numbers from blood work came back high and GP said could be fatty liver and then Endo Dr. said to make app't to have this checked out with a Gastro. Any idea what they are going to do? I hate making app'ts, taking off time from work, making sure my daughter is with someone after school I go to dr. and sit there for an hour and they say we'll keep an eye on it, come back in 6 months

I do have diabetes.
What type of test can tell what is going on ?

Fatty Liver Question....

Typically fatty liver can contribute to development of type 2 diabetes. Usually a fatty liver is an increase risk of developing cirrhosis, liver cancer, kidney disease. These are just genera indicators. Kind of hard for anyone to say without knowing you as a person or a full medical history I would still see your doctor and see if they can give you the first apt in the AM or last apt of the day. Some offices do have saturdays too if you don’t work that day.

My DH cured his fatty liver all via diet and weight loss.
He follows a diet of no sugar, no processed foods, and extremely low carbs.

Fatty liver can be caused by many things from alcohol to being overweight (excess fat gets stored around your organs- like your liver) to having a poor diet. Sugar and carbs are a big culprit as well as is insulin resistance and it's all related

There are also certain foods that are known to be good for fatty liver like radishes, and some other things. I'd have to ask him

In terms of the testing- his was discovered during a body scan he did before he retired. It was like a full body scan that looked at several things.
I am not sure what test they use though- if it's a sonogram or cat scan etc.
He was being tested for many things at once.

Thanks !! I do have to loose weight, working on that and I am sure ALL my numbers that are high will go down.
