How much would you expect to pay? (child care)
For a local high school aged neighbor to watch two kids (5 and 8) for one hour after school, 4 days a week. No homework, no taking them to activities, just picking them up from the bus and going straight home.

I was talking about this with my co-worker today. Her daughters are in HS. The one that drives gets $15/hour. The one that does exactly what you are describing gets $10/hr

Same. I typically pay HS kids $15 an hour but for something like that it seems like $50 a week would be fine. Do they live near you? If they had to travel maybe I would pay a little more.

How much would you expect to pay? (child care)
I did something similar when I was a teen and I'd say $20 per day.

My daycare rate for before and after care is $110 - (granted I'm near Albany, not LI). I can't imagine paying equivalent to that ($20/hour) for a teenagers to watch my kids for one hour.

FYI, that's super cheap! I pay more than double that for 3 days/week before and after care. LI prices are definitely not comparable.
To the OP, I'd offer $50/week for 4 hours, 2 kids.

Look into aftercare at a daycare. I pay $200 for the whole month (for one child) They get the bus there and I pick up right at daycare. It’s cheaper than getting babysitter and they do the homework with them....

I have this and I pay her $20 for the hour. Mainly bc it was really hard to find someone we really liked and that would do it for a little amount of money - not so much per hour but bc it was so few hours a week - i felt like I had to make it worth her wild and time.

I paid $20 per day for 1 kid for 1 hour a day every day, so $100 a week
I also paid her if I skipped a day (he stayed home sick, I was off, etc) as well.

Re: How much would you expect to pay? (child care)
Minimum wage, $12/hr. Without taxes taken out, it would beat an afterschool job. Any less, it may not be worthwhile for the student.
