No answers from doctors
My mother has been having severe pain from her shoulder blade area that wraps around her ribs on one side. It is debilitating at times. She has an osteochondroma that they believe grew (which is odd) but they are saying the pain isn't from that. So far doctors can tell her why she's having pain or any way to fix it. She has seen at least 4 doctors already and gotten cat scans and MRI. SHe has tried bone doctors, pain management specialists, etc. and has gotten no relief after MONTHS. I feel so helpless and want to help her figure this out but we are at a loss. Any thoughts?

This sounds like what I had. I went to 4 diff doctors before anybody figured out it was my gall bladder. Finally I had a HIDA scan and it showed my gall bladder wasn’t functioning and it was triggering gall bladder attacks. It went undetected for years even through cat scans, etc. etc.

Yep. I had that exactly like that when my gallstones acted up. The pain was debilitating.

What kind of doctor did you see for this? She is at her whits end with doctors and feels so lost. She's got many other health issues and pains but this one is really bothering her.

Gastroenterologist. I saw a few before the one who discovered it had me go for the HIDA scan.

I had the same thing, I had like 3 tests done and finally a HIDA scan and that’s when it was discovered my gallbladder wasn’t functioning

Mine was diagnosed in the ER when I showed up there after 3 days of excruciating pain and vomiting.
But yes, she would see a gastro for this.

I had my attack 5 weeks after my daughter was born and I have to say, the pain was worse than labor. No joke.

It started for 6 weeks after my baby was born. Each attack 30 mins after eating. Each one lasting longer than the last. The longest was 5 hrs straight before I drove myself to the Er. But I knew what it was. I had visited my hunk. He was an ass about it. I finally called my general dr and the nurse said sounds like gall bladder. Come right in. I wa going to gonfor a so I buy my pain was tonlong that night and I went straight to the RR. I have a stone stuck in my pancreases that also caused infection and they said I could have died if I ignored it. Such a scary time. I was in the hospital for. Afew days. Then a month later had my gall bladder out
