Maybe you should see a rheumatologist and get a prescription for some physical therapy.

I agree about physical therapy. Meds are going to be pain killers and you don't want that as a long term solution.
Definitely go to get a diagnosis but just be careful with meds. If it's something therapy can help, I'd go that route

I have seen Dr Stephen Geiger in the past. He was always very thorough and helped me a lot with my pain. He is in Uniondale, not sure if that is too far.

Re: recommondations for orthapedic

I have a friend that does acupuncture at a place around Rocky Point. My husband went the PT route for a year consistently and it was a very temporary fix. He has degenerative disk disease and several herniated disks. He is moving on to acupuncture since PT didn't help, he isn't interested in pain meds, and he isn't interested in exploring surgical options so young.

Re: recommondations for orthapedic

Be careful with meds, they only mask the issue.

Is your pain muscular or skeletal ? A heating pad works on muscle pain and not on bone pain.
A good ortho will start you with PT to see if that can alleviate any pain or discomfort.

You could also try a good chiropractor, DH sees one in Rockville Center for his chronic back pain from herniated discs and scoliosis.

He is great but I'm not sure he's a spine guy.

There's also Long Island Spine Specialists. I like Dr. Dowling and Dr. Basra.
