Potty Trained for Pre-k 3
My son will be starting Pre-k 3 in just 2 weeks. We started the potty training process today which is turning out to be the worst thing ever. I'm sure it will get better by then, but he's supposed to be completely trained by then.
Does anyone know what "happens" if he isn't completely potty trained within 2 weeks? If it is of any help, he will be going to SCOPE in Island Trees

In our SCOPE they can be removed from the program if they have 2 or more accidents

The 3 year old class at our school is potty trained only as well. Some kids did come in in pull ups. The teacher wouldn't say anything, but if your child had a BM in the pull up, you were called to come and change it.

For our school, the ratio needed is different and kid would be put into lower level (also pricier).
But a few accidents are expected... but no pull-ups and if they are too much they take action.

Same at our preschool - If it is a short program I wouldn't worry as much. If it was a full day program then that would be an issue

Where I work, if a child isn’t fully potty trained they lose their spot. In order for a school to be legally allowed to have diapered children, they have to be classified as a daycare. So if a child is sent in a pull up (which is a diaper) and he/she needs to be changed, a parent will be required to come in.

Try the 3 day method. It work for my DD but my DS was a nightmare and its been over 2 years and we still have accidents everyday. Not to scare you but i did start when my DS was only a little over 2 so that may have been an issue.
Hopefully he trains quickly for you. But I have heard that they will remove them from programs that require them to be potty trained and if not you must go up there to change them.

I def feel your struggles. My daughter turned 3 end of June and she is VERY stubborn about going in the potty, I tried taking away her pullups but she will purposely hold it in until she is in pain... that being said I did not enroll her into a school program and I am keeping her at her current daycare because I wasn't sure if she would be potty trained in time. The school I was going to enroll her into did say that if they have an accident they are not allowed to change them and they would have to change themselves or the parent would have to come to the school.

My 2.5 year old won’t go no matter what I do. I put underwear on her and she screams “stop torturing me” at the top of her lungs.
I honestly don’t know what I would do if she had to be trained before school. I also think it’s insane that the parents have to go change their kid if they have an accident. What if they work? I had to pick DD up from daycare once when I worked in the city and it took me 3 hours to get there. They would let the kid sit in their poop for 3 hours??

Yes, my sons school offers full -time pre-k3 but since it is an actual school, the child has to be potty trained.

My son downright refused, no matter what method we used. He was in daycare and then a part-time preschool program and was pee trained by the time he was three and a half, but was not poop trained until he was almost 4 and a half. He was stubborn as anything. I can count on one hand the number of accidents he's had since hes' been fully trained though.

DD also refused to poop on the potty until after 4 years old.
It was a nightmare.
Pee she was perfect. Trained early, not one accident.
Forget it with poop.
I thought she'd be going to high school shitting her pants to be honest.

I found the book oh crap potty training to be very helpful, for what it’s worth. I followed it exactly and it worked when my first attempts failed.

I think he might surprise you. My niece was having a ton of accidents at home. She went to school 8:30-12 and had no accidents and then would have accidents at home. I think sometimes herd mentality helps them at Daycare. Plus, I know in my son’s 3 and 4 room, they’re constantly reminding them to use the potty.

I agree. I think being around the other kids who are potty trained and the constant reminders really helps.
DS has been in a program since he was almost 2. They potty trained him when he was about 2 and a half. I was allowed to keep him in pull-ups until he entered the 3 yr old class. I was nervous about what would happen if he had an accident at school while wearing underwear, but thank god it never happened lol

My DD may be the exception- she goes to daycare and we talk about how all her friends at daycare go to the potty and yet she is stubborn about going. ughh....
