disney question

Sorry if this is another same Disney question.
My family and I are going in Sept. My 2 boys are 2 years old and 7 years old. We are definately going to
Magic Kingdom and Animal Kingdom. Do you think my 7 yr old would like Universal Studios? Not sure if he can go on most of the rides. What are your thoughts?
Also I know there's alot of nice hotels in Orlando. Any recommendations on any? Any close by is great for us too.

Tia!

Re: disney question

I think I would save Universal Studios until he is a bit older. I stayed on Disney property so I can't help with hotel. The kids may like Hollywood Studios as well since there is Toy Story land there now...

Re: disney question

We were at Disney this past April. My boys are 9 and 7. I heard they would be too little for a lot of the rides. Plus, I told them when my 9 year old is about 12 we'd go and said he has to finish Harry Potter. He's reading a little, but says it's too long. LOL
Plus, my 9 year old (then 8 when we went) is small for his age.
As PP said they would love Hollywood Studios. My boys LOVE Star Wars so that was cool to meet the characters and put on a show. Toy Story Land wasn't open yet, but everyone raves.

We stayed off site and rented a house with another family that had 5 bedrooms and a pool.

Re: disney question

I’d consider Hollywood Studios as well, esp if your younger likes Disney Jr and your older likes Star Wars. And the new toy story land seems fun. I haven’t been to universal since I was in my 20s but I don’t remember it being so appealing for that younger age group.

I would check the height restrictions for Universal to get an idea. We went to Universal in December, during a 2 week trip. I felt like my 5 year old could do a lot, but definitely not everything. My 3 year old couldn't do as much and, even things she could do, she was afraid of - if it got dark at all, like to play a movie intro while you're in the staging area, she would start screaming to get out and I had to take her out. So, my 3 year old and the baby did a lot of waiting around. We definitely had fun, but Disney was better for their ages. Animal Kingdom will also probably have a lot your 7 year old can do, but not your 2 year old.

Re: disney question

We recently stayed at Caribe Royale for a convention. It was very nice, great pool, and it's close to Disney. We got a good price for the convention. I'm not sure what their prices are normally.

I would just do Disney for now and go to Universal when they are a bit older.

Re: disney question

We just did universal with 4 kids ages 9, 8, and two 7 yos. We had a great time. Check height requirements. My youngest isn't a dare devil so not meeting height wasn't an issue on anything she actually wanted to ride.
